1. Harry Potter: Through the Pensieve - Even if you’re not a huge fan, this emotionally-stirring, trailer-like recap of the entire Harry Potter franchise - including trailer footage for the upcoming final eight film - is rather impressive. [via genrocks]

  2. Guess who got excited over this one!

For my money Tarsem Singh’s Immortals looks YAWN-erific. I’ll be glad when the sword and sandals genre goes away because it seems like none have any sense of heart or humor. I mean, shiiiiit, did you see that “execution” scene? I thought we had crossed into Asylum territory briefly.

Immortals stars Henry Cavill and Mickey Rourke and is about…ummm… from what I got out of the trailer… .a peasant wronged by a king who gets a magic bow that can fire 4 arrows with only 3 pulls. There are shots that look straight out of 300 and from top to bottom it’s got that homogeneous green screen taint that makes the whole thing look like a 1st generation Playstation 3 game. In other words, generic as all get out.

The film has a release date of 11/11/11 and I think they’ll need every second to tighten up the graphics. Right now it looks ready to go straight to DVD/Watch Instantly but apparently they want it to be in RealD 3D. Bleh.

  3. Summer Movie 2010 Mashup - A fan-edit containing every money-shot from every major movie scheduled for release this upcoming Summer movie season (if you consider May a Summer month). Probably better than the sum of its parts.

  6. Link Blowout #72

I’ve Seen the Future of Car Insurance - Local auto insurance company Vern Fonk parodies Back to the Future. Awfully.

Trailer: Iron Man 2 (Chinese Edition) - With a small handful of new footage. May 7th can’t come soon enough.

If Oscars Were Given For Movie Websites - That’s *official* movie websites, not fanboy news/blogs, unfortunately. Still, a pretty interesting read. I can’t tell you the last time I visited an movie’s official website for anything other than a trailer watch.

Mining For Gold in Stanley Kubrick’s Archives - An interesting piece on Lunatic at Large, a film about carnies based on a concept found Kubrick’s archive in 1999 by his son-in-law, which has already scored interest from ScarJo and Sam “Moon was robbed” Rockwell.

How Do Movie Theaters Choose Which Trailers To Play? - Slate unravels the sticky politics behind the mini sneak-peek.

  7. Toy Story 3 Viral Trailers - Really diggin’ on the trio of recently released Toy Story 3 (intarwebs only) trailers. See above for Pixar’s attempt at a Paranormal Activity spoof, here for their take on gadget obsession, and here to peep an online chat between Buzz and Woody. Very out-of-the-box (no pun intended), kudos.

  8. Tron 1982 Trailer Remix - The original gets a modern-day re-edit. I love the original Tron, but man is it slow at times. I think I’ll just watch this trailer from now on instead of the full film. [via screenrant]

  12. Nightmare On Elm Street Trailerfied - The first full trailer for the NoES reboot has been released. Looks like they are taking Freddy back to his roots, making him less of a jokester than in recent years, which is fine by me.

  13. Full Red-Band trailer for Kick-Ass, which looks appropriately titled.
