LOST Audition Tapes - So with the big series finale coming up on Sunday, I thought it might be interesting to take a few minutes looking back (and by “looking back” I mean waaaay back, back before the show’s awesome pilot episode aired way back on September 22nd, 2004) and check out a few of the audition tapes of a handful of our now favorite island castaways.

    Evangeline Lilly - I’ve never thought Lilly was much of an actress, but she is good to look at - so there’s that. The original pilot script called for Jack’s death and the series storyline to revolve around the Kate character. Thank the maker they came to their senses.

    Emilie de Ravin - Everyone’s favorite dirty girl, it’s hard for me to remember the Claire character being this innocent, considering how her storyline has played out in this final season.

    Matthew Fox - Jack does his best Sawyer impression. Maybe the most foreign feeling of all of these early tapes.

    Josh Holloway - Sawyer does his best Sawyer impression. Spot-on perfect casting. Maybe the best pick this side of Jorge Garcia.

    Jorge Garcia - I have no idea what is going on in this tape. I don’t see even a hint of the Hurley I’ve come to know, love, and “dude” along side for six full seasons. Maybe my favorite character on the show, Hurley’s (and by extension Jorge’s) progression has been one of the most satisfying IMO.

    Daniel Dae Kim - I cant understand a word of it, but the classic Jin intensity is on full display. I never really enjoyed the Sun/Jin threads as the show progressed, but reveled in Kim’s performances - even if he did go out in the end as a selfish lover instead of as a responsible father.

    Naveen Andrews - Not much to see here, just the future Sayid whispering through a few lines until…

    Also, Dominic Monghan (Charlie), Ian Somerhalder (Boone), and Maggie Grace (Shannon).

    Who’s looking forward to the series finale this Sunday? Are you ok with a handful of major questions being left unanswered when all is said and done?
