Kiddie-Flick DVD Rip-Offs - I would watch What’s Up: Balloon the the Rescue! (as long as there are no talking dogs).
-
Paul Rudd’s Computer - Rudd brings us the Wednesday Weirdness of the day via Tim & Eric and actually managed to make me laugh for once in his g-d forsaken career. Also, nude tayne.
-
May the 4th Be With You - It’s Star Wars day, don’t forget to party ‘till you regret it.
-
Summer Movie 2010 Mashup - A fan-edit containing every money-shot from every major movie scheduled for release this upcoming Summer movie season (if you consider May a Summer month). Probably better than the sum of its parts.

Link Blowout #70

Tron 3 Already In Motion - This is news? Disney hasn’t had an original-property live-action film with this much buzz since the first Tron in 1982.
“Real 3D” vs. “Fake 3D”: Should Studios Advertise the Distinction? - In short: Yes, of course. But they won’t.
Anton Yelchin Lands Lead Role in Fright Night Remake - In other news: OMG They Are Remaking Fright Night?!
Microsoft Says Halo Movie Will Happen “When the Time is Right” - You mean, like, when the game was hot, and Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp were involved, and you know, people gave a shite? The time wasn’t right then?
Trailer: Dinner for Schmucks - I’m about this close to being officially “over” both Carell and Rudd, but this looks better than Date Night, so there’s that.
HitFix.com Launches New “Motion/Captured” Podcast - Drew “Moriarty” McWeeny of long-time AICN fame hosts his first podcast. Sadly, no “back-in-the-day” stories within, yet - but the show is young. If he could just get Harry in front of a mic with him it would be like a wet dream-cast for late-90’s/early 00’s online film-nerds.

14 Awesome Alt Movie Poster Designers
As cinephiles, we all love movie posters. The 14 designers below really, really love movie posters, creating their own interpretations for their favorite films, sometimes for money, and sometimes just for the love of the emerging art of the movie poster remakemix. Check’em out, in no particular order…

Jeff Kleinsmith - One of Seattle’s innovative freelance designers, also the long-time art director for Sub Pop Records.
Tyler Stout - Frequent Alamo Draft House event poster designer, incredible line art detail that must be seen up close to be truly appreciated.
Ken Taylor - Illustrator and designer from Melbourne, Australia. Does frequent work for the Alamo Draft House.
The Silent Giants - A designing duo out of Michigan, also a frequent Alamo Draft House contributor.
Rafael Müller - This Portuguese Flickr user focuses mainly on minimalist Coen Bros movie posters, but occasional dips his toes into other filmic fare.
Marcos C - This Spanish designer is also minimalist in style. His Moon poster could be considered spoiler material, yet represents the themes of the film perfectly.
Dr. Monster - Polish Flickr user Travis Pitts has a style like none-other on this list.
Tavis Coburn - Working out of California, Tavis was commissioned to create posters for each of 2010’s BAFTA Best Picture nominees.
Steve Bialick - A writer/artist/cartoonist out of New York, Steve’s “Samurai Star Wars” poster series is a true genre-bender.
Tom Whalen - An illustrator out of Pennsylvania and frequent Colonial Theater contributor.
Chris Thornley - Working out of the UK, Chris’ style has a minimalist edge, but twists common iconic elements in unique ways.
Zoltron - As far as I can tell this Fantastic Mr. Fox poster is the only movie-related poster the California based design company has produced, but it’s so fantastically detailed it must be highlighted.
Ibrahim Youssef - Already “Internet Famous” to some extent for his Quentin Tarantino poster creations, Ibrahim just recently released a second series focusing on the works of Wes Anderson.
Brandon Schaefer - A graphic designer out of Massachusetts, Brandon is one of the few on this list who’s not afraid to throw a film’s original color palette right out of the window when creating his posters.Know of any artists or designers doing great movie poster work we missed? Pass them along.
-
Quentin Tarantino -vs- The Coen Brothers - Two of my favorite things, mashed-up. Long, but delightful.
