Deals: The Master & Django Unchained Find a Home - New Paul Thomas Anderson and Quentin Tarantino projects are officially on the move, courtesy The Brothers Harvey.

Kirkman Wants King - The Hollywood Reporter catches up with the Walking Dead creator. Topics of discussion include comic-based properties he’s excited by, completed scripts, and getting the master of the horror novel, Stephen King himself, to write a season two episode.

Meltdown - A sadistic short featuring the voice talent of David Cross (among others.) “Last night’s leftovers battle for their lives.”

Harry Knowles’ Neckbeard - Good on the AICN founder for continuing to lose the weight - I wish the man nothing but great health and a long life of living down his legendary Godzilla review. That being said, shave that shite already.

    • Cult-Movie Music Remix of the Week - If the upcoming Tron Legacy, with it’s Daft Punk produced musical score, is the evolution of the classic man-in-game series, the remix below is surely the de-evolution. Or something.
gamefreaksnz:

Tron Tribute EP 2010The remixes are based off of the amazing original score by Wendy Carlos for the original 1982 film Tron. The collection’s sound palette uses the following systems: Commodore 64, Nintendo NES, Nintendo Game Boy, Apple II, and Atari 2600.
1. Tron Scherzo (Sark’s Revenge Mix) 2. Tron Theme and Ending (Flynn’s Goodbye Mix) 3. Tron Scherzo (Solar Sailer mix) 4. Tron Theme and Ending (Yori’s Game Boy Mix) 5. Tron Scherzo (Bit’s Game Boy Mix)

    • Movie Games Mashup Mix - Or “The Game” by video artist Tasman Richardson, featuring clips from tons of flicks, most of which center on characters playing games.

Tron 3 Already In Motion - This is news? Disney hasn’t had an original-property live-action film with this much buzz since the first Tron in 1982.

“Real 3D” vs. “Fake 3D”: Should Studios Advertise the Distinction? - In short: Yes, of course. But they won’t.

Anton Yelchin Lands Lead Role in Fright Night Remake - In other news: OMG They Are Remaking Fright Night?!

Microsoft Says Halo Movie Will Happen “When the Time is Right” - You mean, like, when the game was hot, and Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp were involved, and you know, people gave a shite? The time wasn’t right then?

Trailer: Dinner for Schmucks - I’m about this close to being officially “over” both Carell and Rudd, but this looks better than Date Night, so there’s that.

HitFix.com Launches New “Motion/Captured” Podcast - Drew “Moriarty” McWeeny of long-time AICN fame hosts his first podcast. Sadly, no “back-in-the-day” stories within, yet - but the show is young. If he could just get Harry in front of a mic with him it would be like a wet dream-cast for late-90’s/early 00’s online film-nerds.

    • Tron Sweded - Not your typical movie swede, a shot-for-shot remake of the classic light-cycle scene from 1982’s TRON using plenty of construction paper, cardboard, and scotch tape ingenuity. It’s a bit old, but full of awesome, and new to me.

Anna Faris is Private Benjamin - Finally, a remake casting I can get behind.

Eastern Promises 2 Moving Forward - The unlikely sequel starts shooting in June with David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortenson returning. I can’t wait. [via filmjunk]

Video: TronoRail - More video of Walt Disney World’s Tron themed monorail trains than one could ever want.

Trailer: The Expendables - Starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a shite-ton of gunplay and explosions. This can’t possibly go wrong.

E*Trade Babies Coming To The Big-Screen - Um, no. Unless Lindsay Lohan voices one of the chatty little tikes. Then, yes.

    • Tron 1982 Trailer Remix - The original gets a modern-day re-edit. I love the original Tron, but man is it slow at times. I think I’ll just watch this trailer from now on instead of the full film. [via screenrant]

    • Tron -vs- Saul Bass - The intro credits to Tron, with a vintage Saul Bass twist, as reimagined by Vimeo user Heaxagonal.

    • Yet Another Tron Fan-Poster - By Brandon Scahefer, this interpretation isn’t specific to the upcoming Tron Legacy, but neon-cool none-the-less.

Enemy Grid available at 80sTees

Love this shirt, hate the “Tron” logo below the foot. Why add the logo? There are some films that have such iconic imagery that a logo is not only unnecessary, it somehow takes the idea of wearing this in public from “possibly cool” to “incredibly cheesy.”
